These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Kalpa Vedic Jyotish web experience (the “Service”), operated by Lumen Studio (“we”, “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. The Service
Kalpa offers a free, browser-based Janam Kundli preview that calculates sidereal planetary positions, ascendant, Nakshatra and Vimshottari Dasha, and presents interpretive reading content. The Service may change, be suspended, or gain new features such as Rashifal, Kundli Milan and Shubh Muhurat in future. The free reading does not require payment or account creation.
The complete 18-page report is currently free to unlock in the Kalpa mobile app. App distribution and any optional in-app purchase introduced in future are governed by the relevant app store and the app’s own terms; optional paid features will be clearly labelled inside the app before purchase. The website does not automatically transfer your birth details to the app.
2. Eligibility and consent
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service independently. If you are under 18, use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By entering birth details, you confirm that the information is yours or that you have permission to use it. Do not enter another person’s personal data without their consent.
3. Astrology is not professional advice
Vedic astrology is a traditional system of guidance and self-reflection. It is not science-backed prediction and does not provide certainty about the future. The Service is not medical, mental-health, legal, financial, investment, career-placement or relationship advice. Always consult a qualified professional for important decisions. Never delay professional help because of a reading.
Our content may refer to themes such as career, marriage, wealth, health and spirituality. These are interpretive prompts, not promises, diagnoses, prescriptions or instructions. You remain responsible for your choices and actions.
4. Accuracy and calculations
We work to produce careful sidereal calculations using available astronomical data, Lahiri ayanamsa and traditional Vimshottari Dasha conventions. However, astrology involves multiple schools, ayanamsas, house systems and interpretive traditions. We do not warrant that any calculation, date, prediction, Dasha window or recommendation is accurate, complete or suitable for your circumstances.
Your input matters. Inaccurate birth date, time, place or time zone can change the result. We currently assume Indian Standard Time (UTC+05:30) for birth times entered in Indian locations. By using the Service you accept these limitations.
5. No guaranteed outcomes
No reading guarantees a job, promotion, government appointment, marriage, partner, income, wealth, health outcome or any other result. Any “window” or “period” is presented as a supportive theme for reflection, not a promise. Astrology cannot replace your effort, decisions or professional guidance.
6. Privacy and local processing
Your free reading is calculated in your browser, and birth details are not stored by us in a database. Sharing a result is a voluntary action you take through your chosen messaging service. Please read our Privacy Policy for details.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. You may not attempt to disrupt it, scrape it at scale, reverse-engineer non-public systems, impersonate another person, enter another person’s sensitive data without permission, use the Service for harassment or fraud, or present generated content as professional advice or a guaranteed prediction. We may restrict access where we reasonably believe misuse has occurred.
8. Intellectual property
The Kalpa name, visual design, written interpretations, interface, code and brand assets are owned by or licensed to Lumen Studio and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may share a personal result for non-commercial conversation. You may not copy, resell, republish or use Kalpa’s content to train a competing commercial astrology product without written permission. Traditional Vedic terminology and classical source material remain part of the shared cultural heritage.
9. Third-party services
The Service may link to third-party sites, such as WhatsApp for sharing or email for contact. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content, availability or data practices. A link does not imply endorsement.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available and free, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, suspend or discontinue features at any time. We may revise these Terms; the revised version takes effect when posted, and the “last updated” date will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lumen Studio and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses arising from your use of or reliance on the Service, including decisions about career, relationships, finances or health. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited, including your rights under applicable consumer-protection laws.
12. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Lumen Studio against claims arising from your unlawful or unauthorised use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.
13. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India will have jurisdiction over disputes. For questions, contact hello@kalpa.studio. For privacy matters, see our Privacy Policy contact section.
