This Privacy Policy explains how Lumen Studio (“Lumen Studio”, “we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Kalpa Vedic Jyotish web experience (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. What we collect

To generate a reading, the Service asks for your full name, gender, date of birth, time of birth and place of birth. You choose what to enter. The Service also needs your consent before generating a reading.

The free reading is computed in your browser. At the time of this policy, Kalpa does not transmit your name, birth date, birth time or birthplace to a Kalpa server, and does not store those details in a database, account or marketing list.

2. How the calculation works

When you press “Generate My Free Kundli Now”, your device calculates planetary positions, your ascendant, Nakshatra and Vimshottari Dasha from the details you entered. The result exists only in the memory of your current browser tab. Refreshing or closing the page clears it.

We do not require an email address, phone number, password or payment method to use the free reading.

3. Cookies, analytics and local storage

Kalpa does not set advertising cookies, does not use third-party behavioural analytics to profile you, and does not save your birth details in local storage. Your reading is not remembered between visits.

Our hosting infrastructure may automatically process limited technical information (such as a server request log containing an IP address, browser type and timestamp) for security, fraud prevention and reliable delivery. Those logs are not used to build an astrology profile, and we do not sell them.

4. Legal basis and consent

We process the details you enter only because you have given your consent for the specific purpose of generating a reading. You can withdraw consent at any time by not submitting the form or by clearing the page. Because no birth details are stored after your browser session, there is no stored reading to delete from a Kalpa database.

If you are under 18, please use Kalpa only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

5. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. The free reading does not send your birth details to advertising networks or data brokers. If you choose to share a result using WhatsApp or another share service, you control that action; the relevant third party’s privacy terms apply to the message you send. The default share message includes your Lagna and Nakshatra but not your birth date, birth time or birthplace.

Our typefaces and interface icons are served from this website. We do not use third-party ad pixels on this free reading experience. If this changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for consent before using non-essential technologies.

The Kalpa mobile app is a separate product. The website does not transfer your birth details to the app automatically. If you choose to download the app through the Apple App Store or Google Play, those stores and the app’s own privacy notice and terms apply, including how the app saves reports. The full 18-page report is currently free to unlock in the app; if optional paid features are introduced later, they will be clearly labelled inside the app.

6. Data retention

Birth details are held in your browser’s volatile page memory for the duration of the calculation and reading. They are not stored by Kalpa after the page is closed. Shareable result content is generated in your browser on demand and is not saved to an account.

7. Your rights in India

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, to nominate a person to exercise your rights, and to complain to the Data Protection Board of India. Because we do not retain your birth details, the most effective way to remove those details is to close or refresh the page. For any request or question, contact us using the details below.

8. Security

We design the Service to minimise risk by not collecting and storing sensitive birth details on a server. No internet transmission or computing system is completely secure, but local-only calculation reduces the exposure of your birth information. Please avoid entering someone else’s personal details without their permission.

9. International access

The Service is intended for users in India and the Indian diaspora. If you access it from another country, your browser may still calculate everything locally. Hosting infrastructure may be located outside your state or country, but birth details are not sent to it by the free form.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We will change the “last updated” date and, for material changes, provide a clear notice on the site. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
